At this rate I should be seeing 500k in June sometime, give or take. It’s really hard to say for sure.
This last week I had another run to Challis, ID. Which includes 2 of my favorite things. 1st is the Hwy 21 stretch of road from Idaho City to Lowman. This also happens to be where I creamed the TSX the 2nd time with Bambi’s help. 2nd, is my favorite photo spot. I just can’t help myself every time I see those Sawtooth Mountains in Stanly, ID. I have to take a picture & send it to Tyson of drivetofive to remind him that he’s in a cubicle, & I’m here…Needless to say, he loves when I do this. My only regret is that I can’t do it more often.
Some other interesting things I saw was the diverting of this section of the Boise River.I guess I’m using the word diverting loosely here. The Boise River flows into the Arrowhead Reservoir & then down into the Lucky Peak Lake. When the water level gets to high in the spring from snow melt, the water is diverted, or drained into the lower section of the river as seen above. Don’t be fooled, those bi-ways are about 20 ft tall. There is a ton of water coming out of there every second.
While I was in Challis, I stopped at the Sinclair Gas station near the intersection of the 93 Hwy & the 75 Hwy where inside there is a great little sandwich deli. Whilst I enjoyed my wonderful Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap & some Rolled Gold (no, not a doobie), I enjoyed the 64 degree blue skies and mountains that Challis has to offer. Behold! This is from the parking lot of the gas station. So you can imagine what the rest of the area has to offer. I’d love to have a summer place up here somewhere. Someday.
The miles are clicking by fast now. Every day I’m in the car I find myself taking the long way to every inspection location just to eek out a couple more miles per trip.
That’s all for now! Stay safe out there & see you again soon in less than 1,000.
